PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE THE FEATHER CROWNED PRINCE OF DAWN

Adorned by golden silk and jewelled ornaments, the head gear of the prince of Gokula, Krishna is crowned with peacock feathers. Known for its transcendental colours and vibrancy, the feathers exhibit the strong hues of green and blue with contrasting tones of tinting brown and gold giving a rich textural elegance and royal valour to it.

PROTO-INDO EUROPEAN TRADITIONS

In Greek and Roman mythological beliefs, the Roman Goddess Juno and its Greek counterpart Hera are always believed to accompanied by peacock with its feathers as their honorary symbol. As the goddesses of royal tutelary and heroic valour the Peacock as the sign of nobility is sacred to them. The Vedic Goddess Saraswati, Avestan Goddess Anahita and also the Germanic Norse Goddess Freyja have been suggested references to Juno and Hera as the epitomes of fertility, war and sovereignty the trifunctional ideology of Indo-European influences.
According to Babylonians and Persians, the rich tones of the peacock feathers were symbolical of the Royal lineage enhancing power, wealth, prosperity and thus were used in throne carvings and royal architecture.

BUDDHISM

Kuan Yin, the Buddhist goddess form of Avalokitesvara is often depicted with a peacock. Regarded as a female Boddhisattva she is derived from the Chinese epithet Guanshiyin of The One who sees the cries of the World, she is ascribed to the Buddhist Lotus and Heart sutras and often identified with Virgin Mary as the goddess of Mercy and Compassion. Avalokitesvara in some versions is often depicted as an androgynous deity, although they are believed to be beyond any restricted gender as attributed by the Buddhist principles of Neti Neti translating Form is emptiness, Emptiness is form.

PSYCHEDELIC EFFECTS AND VISIONS

The rich overtones of the feathers intricately delicate geometric patterns and its unusual hues gives the observer a visionary experience of royal tinges of natural colour, much alike the psychedelic experience of envisioning vibrancy, colours and geometric formations under a heightened sense of creative impetus. Theses psychedelic expressions can be well envisioned in Jim's poetic overtones and the his palette of words...

TO HAVE JUST COME WONDERING
IF THE WORLD IS REAL IS.....

CERTAIN NO ONE MEANT IT
